GPSOnIt is a service providing real time GPS based location tracking for everything you care about. There are many options from in-vehicle devices, wearable devices, worldwide pocket satellite devices, to tracking your own smart-phone. No matter which type you choose, or if you choose multiple types, GPSOnIt provides access to all of these in one place.

Tracking isn't just for companies with lots of vehicles.
Families have many tracking needs. Multiple cars, motorcycles, perhaps a boat or RV, and most importantly, family members. Some family members may have functional needs, such as those in the Autism Spectrum or suffering from Alzheimer's disease, and may wander, or become lost and disoriented, even while visiting familiar places. With a discreet device from GPSOnIt, you can easily locate them when needed.

Where can I use this?
Devices known as GPS trackers are really receivers that record and calculate location information received from a satellite.
Active trackers include communication devices, such as a 'mini' cell phone, that then transmit the information to a service such as GPSOnIt.com
There are two factors to understand when considering using such a device:

  1. GPS satellite reception:
    To determine a position, the device must be able to 'hear' from a satellite. Being inside a large parking structure, or an underground garage, or even in a home garage or building, can interfere with reception.
    The effect can be no location information or 'drift' where a location is close, but off a bit.
  2. Communication coverage:
    Just as with any cell phone, coverage or reception, can vary depending on where you are. With tracking devices, it is possible that the device is currently out of signal, but is in fact receiving and recording GPS data. When the device returns to cell phone coverage, the position information will be sent. This is similar to text messages and emails being delivered once a cell phone has reentered a coverage area.
    When a device reenters coverage area, it will send all perviously unsent location reports. This information will be added to the device history, and any alerts or notifications that are triggered will also be sent out.
GPSOnIt does not manufacture tracking devices. We only sell devices that we have personally tested and verified as being fully functional and appropriate for the intended use.

Keeping up with your business or your family just got a whole lot easier thanks to GPSOnIt's My Locator skill and Alexa! With the My Locator skill, you can just ask Alexa to locate everything you care about.

If you don't have a GPSOnIt account

To get a new account start by going to http://www.GPSOnIt.com and click on Store. Look for our Family / Personal tracker, or select one or more of any of our other great devices. Each Family / Personal tracker device purchased comes with 12 months of service. After your order is processed, you will receive an email confirming shipping, account details, and instructions on how to enable and link the My Locator skill in the Alexa application. Shipping generally takes 1 - 4 weeks.

Getting Started with Alexa

To enable My Locator for Alexa

  1. Open the Alexa application (use either your mobile application or alexa.amazon.com)
  2. Find My Locator in the skills list
  3. Click on Enable Skill button
  4. Alexa application will open the GPSOnIt.com Login page.
  5. Existing GPSOnIt User
    1. Enter your email and password, then press LOGIN.
    2. After 'account linked' message is displayed, Alexa is ready to respond to requests.
      • 'Alexa, ask My Locator to find everyone'
  6. New User
    You will be able to Enable My Locator, but will need to have an active account at GPSOnIt.com. Please contact support@GPSOnIt.com for more information.
    1. Press the 'x' in the upper right corner to dismiss the login screen.
      The skill page will show again and have two buttons Disable Skill Link Account Once you have joined GPSOnIt.com, you will tap this button and sign in to link with Alexa.
    2. My Locator Help is available without an account
      Try saying:
